Very good customer service, competitive price and good communications. Delivery driver was safety conscience, careful and efficient.
When I was uncontactable for the 2nd delivery and driver needed access to the sluice through security gates, Maltaward contacted our "national customer contact centre" who provided a contact number and the delivery was made. A big thank you to the company and driver for their persistence and patience. Would highly recommend this company.

TVCB Frequently Asked Questions

What are TVCBs?

TVCBs, or Temporary Vertical Concrete Barriers, are heavy-duty interlocking concrete barriers used for site security, perimeter protection, traffic management and vehicle control. Maltaward’s TVCBs are 3m long, 800mm high and 450mm wide, with each barrier weighing 2.5 tonnes.

They are manufactured to BS EN 1317 standards and can be bolted together where additional resistance is required. Because TVCBs rely on their weight rather than permanent ground fixings, they can usually be installed and removed without the need to drill into the existing surface. They are commonly used on construction sites, vacant properties, events and locations where vehicle intrusion needs to be controlled.

What are TVCBs commonly used for?

TVCBs are commonly used for construction site security, temporary traffic management, event perimeters, vacant property protection and locations where vehicle access needs to be controlled. Their weight and interlocking design make them suitable for creating a strong temporary boundary without the need for permanent ground fixings.

How many TVCBs do I need for my site?

As a rough guide, you’ll typically need one TVCB for every 3 metres of perimeter, plus a suitable gate section if vehicle access is required. For example, a 100m site perimeter would usually need around 33 barriers, although the final quantity will depend on the site layout, corners, access points and whether mesh fence panels are being added on top.

Send Maltaward a site plan or approximate measurements and the team can calculate the required number of TVCBs as part of your quote.

Can TVCBs be fitted with fencing and gates?

Yes. Maltaward’s TVCBs can be fitted with mesh fencing panels on top to increase perimeter height and improve site security. We can also supply temporary access gates as part of the barrier setup, allowing authorised vehicles and visitors to enter the site safely while keeping the perimeter controlled.

Can TVCBs be installed without damaging the ground surface?

In most cases, yes. TVCBs rely on their weight and interlocking design rather than permanent ground fixings, which means they can usually be installed and removed without drilling into the existing surface. Site conditions, access and layout should still be checked before installation, and Maltaward can advise on the most suitable setup.

How are TVCBs delivered to site?

Maltaward delivers TVCBs using its own HGV transport, with self-offloading crane vehicles or Moffett forklifts available depending on site access and project requirements. This means the barriers can usually be placed where they are needed on site, helping to make installation quicker and more straightforward.

We deliver TVCBs nationwide from multiple locations across the UK and can support both short-term and long-term hire requirements, as well as direct purchase where required. Contact the team with your site location, access details and approximate barrier quantity, and we can advise on the most suitable delivery option.

How quickly can TVCBs be delivered?

Maltaward offers a range of delivery options for TVCBs, including nationwide delivery, 24-hour delivery, overnight delivery and weekend delivery where available. Delivery times depend on stock, location, quantity and site access, so contact the team with your requirements and they can confirm the best option for your project.

Do you hire TVCBs?

Yes. Maltaward offers TVCBs for both short-term and long-term hire, depending on your site security, traffic management or perimeter protection requirements. If you need barriers permanently, or you regularly use them across multiple projects, TVCBs can also be purchased directly from us.

We are really grateful for you guys organising these barriers, the driver was early, took no time at all and we are now properly secure. We will only use you for this sort of stuff in future, 10/10 service.

Jak

Multiple compliments from staff and patients – I have been taking full credit.

Chaps did an excellent job – quick and efficient and spelling perfect!

Car Park Line Marking

I just express our thanks for the short hire of the blockers and the gate and the services provided by Del yesterday.

We have had excellent feedback, not only internally but from our Customer who was holding the event and it would not have gone so smoothly if Del did not play his part so efficiently and professionally.

Everything ran so smoothly. His Majesty would not have known the amount of work that went into making the event possible not only by the SEGRO team but all of our service partners.

It is not often that feedback is positive but it is important for you to know how grateful we are to you and the team and ask that you thank Del from SEGRO, Felix and personally from myself.

Joanna, Property Manager at SEGRO

Superb job done by you guys and Hal! She was very happy!

Chiswick Sports Ground, London

Thanks to all the team and everyone involved! Great job as always!!
