Features & Specifications

Whether you need to set up a long-term perimeter around part of your site or temporarily block an entrance or perhaps have another purpose in mind, we can provide the best type of concrete bollards for your needs. Our range of industrial concrete bollards includes heavy-duty physical barriers suited to agricultural, industrial and commercial use.

Our most popular products are listed below – contact us today for more details or to discuss your security needs.

XL Interlocking Concrete Blocks

Our XL Interlocking Concrete Blocks are extremely durable, easy to install and highly adaptable. Each block has its own cast-in lifting pin for practical manoeuvring, and Maltaward are the only manufacturer in Europe to produce an interlocking concrete barrier using high-strength concrete (50N / mm). We use a Design Mix concrete, high-quality, locally sourced aggregates so you can always be sure of the consistent quality of a Maltaward concrete bollard.

Interlocking Concrete Blocks are highly adaptable and are used across the construction, agricultural, environmental and commercial industries. They not only serve as excellent site security solutions, but as supporting or retaining walls, silage clamps/grain storage, and more.

TVCBs

Temporary Vertical Concrete Barriers (TVCBs) are our most popular temporary concrete safety bollard and are suitable for a variety of applications. This includes restricting site access, creating safety perimeters and implementing traffic control. They are commonly used to prevent fly-tipping or traveller settlements on construction sites or temporarily empty premises.

TVCBs are available for rental or purchase, and our depots around the UK can deliver to your firm at short notice.

Malta Rock

We work with a variety of clients and understand that some firms prefer a less industrial-looking barrier. Malta rock is a less obtrusive alternative and can be used in exactly the same way as our other barriers to prevent access to your site. These quarry rocks are more aesthetically appealing than shaped concrete and are a popular choice for many events and businesses.

Very good customer service, competitive price and good communications. Delivery driver was safety conscience, careful and efficient.
When I was uncontactable for the 2nd delivery and driver needed access to the sluice through security gates, Maltaward contacted our "national customer contact centre" who provided a contact number and the delivery was made. A big thank you to the company and driver for their persistence and patience. Would highly recommend this company.

More recently in my new company, I have brought them in to use utilised their vacant security services. They have worked with me to provide the correct service for our specific requirements.
They have a common sense approach to everything.

Concrete Bollards Frequently Asked Questions

What are concrete bollards used for?: We supply a range of heavy concrete products that can restrict unauthorised vehicle access, block entrances, create safety perimeters and support traffic control. They are suitable for agricultural, industrial and commercial sites, including vacant premises where access needs to be controlled to discourage fly-tipping or unauthorised occupation.
Are concrete bollards freestanding or fixed into the ground?: Our concrete barrier and bollard options are generally freestanding and rely on their weight rather than permanent ground fixings. Depending on the product, units may be positioned individually, interlocked or connected to neighbouring barriers. We can recommend a suitable arrangement based on the site conditions, access requirements and how long the barriers are needed.
Can concrete bollards be hired for temporary use?: Yes. Several of our concrete barrier options are available for hire as well as purchase. Hire may suit temporary access restrictions, safety perimeters or vacant-site protection, while purchase may be more suitable for permanent or repeat use. Send us the site location, required coverage and hire period and we can recommend an appropriate option.
Which type of concrete bollard or barrier is right for my site?: The right option depends on the area being secured, how long the protection is needed and the preferred appearance. XL Interlocking Concrete Blocks are suitable where a substantial, adaptable layout is required. TVCBs are commonly used for temporary access control and safety perimeters, while Malta Rock provides a more natural-looking alternative. Send us the site measurements and intended use and we can advise.
How are concrete bollards delivered and positioned?: We arrange nationwide delivery, with the transport, unloading and positioning method determined by the product, quantity and site access. Send us the delivery postcode, access details and intended final position when requesting a quote so we can advise on the most suitable delivery and positioning method.

What Our Clients Think Of Us

We are really grateful for you guys organising these barriers, the driver was early, took no time at all and we are now properly secure. We will only use you for this sort of stuff in future, 10/10 service.

Jak

Multiple compliments from staff and patients – I have been taking full credit.

Chaps did an excellent job – quick and efficient and spelling perfect!

Car Park Line Marking

I just express our thanks for the short hire of the blockers and the gate and the services provided by Del yesterday.

We have had excellent feedback, not only internally but from our Customer who was holding the event and it would not have gone so smoothly if Del did not play his part so efficiently and professionally.

Everything ran so smoothly. His Majesty would not have known the amount of work that went into making the event possible not only by the SEGRO team but all of our service partners.

It is not often that feedback is positive but it is important for you to know how grateful we are to you and the team and ask that you thank Del from SEGRO, Felix and personally from myself.

Joanna, Property Manager at SEGRO

Superb job done by you guys and Hal! She was very happy!
