Our Marquee blocks and Kentledge blocks are available as 500kg blocks or as 1 tonne blocks with attachment eye bolts at the top. These provide the facility for the marquees to be safely and easily secured. They are also manufactured with precast forklift slots in the base for easy lifting. Our marquee weights are versatile and can be used to secure any structure indoors or outdoors, on soft or hard ground.

Maltaward to deliver marquee blocks nationwide on one of our specialist trucks. Once we arrive at your site, we can assist with manoeuvring the blocks safely into place or if you would prefer, you can position them yourself.

Appropriate pallet trucks or forklift can be used in the purpose made pre-formed slots on the bottom of each block. There is also a lifting eye that can be fitted to the threaded socket on the top of the block for lifting with a suitable crane and chain.

What is the best way of getting marquee blocks to a site?

We deliver marquee blocks on our own transport; each vehicle has its own offloading crane or forklift to place them ready for your install. Or if you prefer, we can give you a quotation to place them around your marquee.

How easy is it to move marquee blocks?

Each marquee block is manufactured with precast slots for forklifts, making it simple to lift, move and lower blocks around your site. Once in position, the weight of our marquee blocks (either 500kg or 1 tonne) makes them virtually impossible to move without specialist equipment.

How do I secure a tent or canopy to the blocks?

At Maltaward, the marquee blocks that we supply have an eye bolt attachment at the top, designed for your tent, canopy or marquee to be strapped into. It’s essential that you follow proper strapping techniques to ensure your canopy is securely tethered.

What are the benefits of using marquee blocks over water barrels?

Water barrels are commonly used as ballast for high-capacity marquees, with the belief that they are a cheaper, more portable alternative to heavy-duty concrete. However, it’s important to consider that generic water barrels are prone to sliding or tipping and may not be heavy enough to safely anchor a large tent in many conditions. Plus, there is the issue of accessing (and often wasting) the significant volume of water to fill them on-site.

How many blocks will I need for my marquee?

The appropriate number of blocks will depend on the size of your marquee and, to some extent, the weather conditions at the time of your event. Underestimating the amount of ballast needed to keep your tent secure can quickly turn into a safety hazard, so it’s essential that you order the correct number of blocks.

Can I purchase marquee blocks or only rent them?

Maltaward customers are welcome to purchase marquee blocks or rent them, depending on what is most convenient to them. If you aren’t sure about the most cost-effective option for your requirements, we would be happy to discuss your event plans and provide a free quote so you can compare the cost of renting and purchasing the marquee blocks you require.

Are there alternatives to using a purpose made marquee block?

Very good customer service, competitive price and good communications. Delivery driver was safety conscience, careful and efficient.
